The IOL master is a state of the art technological advance which uses laser technology to measure the length of the eye as well as the curvature of the cornea. Accuracy of these measurements is paramount in determining the correct power of the Intraocular lens (IOL) that is inserted into the eye after cataract surgery. The IOL Master is the latest and most accurate form of technology available for determining the correct IOL power. Selection of the correct IOL power results in improved vision after your cataract surgery. Every patient in our office undergoing cataract surgery will have measurements by the IOL Master prior to their surgery.<br \/>\nDiagnostic Services<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>Ocular Coherence Tomography<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test. It uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina and optic nerve. With OCT, we can see each of the retina&#8217;s distinctive layers. This allows us to map and measure their thickness. OCT is also used to evaluate disorders of the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aao.org\/eye-health\/anatomy\/optic-nerve-list\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.aao.org\/eye-health\/anatomy\/optic-nerve-list&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1642527722688000&amp;usg=AOvVaw12lFxIFdEyJEiWCnwE9bSN\">optic nerve<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0as well. The OCT exam helps us see changes to the fibers of the optic nerve.\u00a0These measurements help with diagnosis and treatment guidance for glaucoma and diseases of the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aao.org\/eye-health\/anatomy\/retina-103\">retina<\/a><\/strong>..<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>The Humphrey visual field analyzer is used to identify visual field abnormalities in patients with posterior pole disease, optic nerve disease, or disease of the visual pathways extending from the eyes to the brain.
